Objectives

By the end of this course, participants will be able to: Interpret and apply the key requirements of International Accounting Standard (IAS 1) regarding the presentation of the Statement of Financial Position and Statement of Comprehensive Income. Compute and record the Expected Credit Loss (ECL) for trade receivables, and accurately account for inventory costs and valuation methods. Recognize, measure, and present major long-term assets, including property, plant, and equipment (PPE) and investment property. Differentiate and classify various categories of financial assets, and determine the appropriate accounting treatment for each classification. Explain and apply the five-step model for revenue recognition from customer contracts in line with IFRS 15. Account for and present assets, liabilities, and expenses arising from lease contracts in the lessee’s financial statements in accordance with IFRS 16.
